BRTHR|Travis Scott-Goosebumps 


BRTHR uses a lot of special effects in his Travis Scott music video in order to create an almost drug like experience for the viewer, he also uses these special effects in order to transition to a different scene in the music video in order to further the abstract narrative of the piece. He ends the video with a mid shot of the artist sitting on a throne which i believe makes for an interesting shot. The video also has a glitch like feel and as a result has a lot of jumpy edits etc.










Karena Evans| Drake-Nice for what

Karena uses smooth camera shots and transitions within Drake's music video in order to create a professional looking music video which represents Drake as a professional, clean (in terms of aesthetics) artist. Karena uses a variety of different colours both dull and bright in order to create such a professional aesthetic. The video itself is abstract as it does not have a key narrative other than that of powerful women. 












Grant Singer| The Weekend-Call out my Name

Grant uses dull colours in order to create a sombre atmosphere which relates to the lyrics of the song itself. Grant utilises long takes which help to create a professional clean feel to the music video making it enjoyable and easy to watch. The use of the special effects chosen add to the abstract narrative of the video and similar to the other videos it ends with the artist in either a long shot or mid shot in order to in a way summarise the music video.









As a result of viewing and studying these music videos I would like to incorporate the use of the colour pallet that was featured in the weekend music video as i believe that is similar in the mood and atmosphere i would like to create in my own music video, i would also like to attempt to use Special effects in my music video as a result of The Weekend's music video as well as Travis Scott's as i believe i can create a distorted and glitchy feel to my music video in order to create the idea of how it may feel to have Mental health problems like the protagonist of my music video has. As an auteur for my music video i would also like to establish a clean and professional feel to my music video in order to make the video more enjoyable for an audience member to listen to and watch. I would also like to end my music video with a shot of the protagonist in either a long or mid shot.

Black by Dave Dave was born David Orobosa Omoregie on the 5th of June in 1998 in England to Edo immigrant parents.  The music video itself is a narrative\experimental video as it shows a variety of different scenes where they show different scenarios which when put together tell an overall narrative to the story. The video was released in February of 2019 around the time of major black lives matter movements, the video then became all the more prominent with the murder of George Floyd. The video provides an insight into how it feels like to be black in a modern world society which can be inferred by the lyrics for example, "The blacker the berry the sweeter the juice, a kid dies, the blacker the killer the sweeter the news", this clearly highlights the discrimination that black people face from the media and how they are portrayed within such platforms. Why study the media The media in our society is ever growing and changing to new horizons and in turn increasing its influence and hold over everyone especially the younger generation of whom are the easiest to influence. Though before we may have received our information and news from somewhat “trustworthy” sources such as newspapers and newsletters however in the growing digital age everyone can now publish their own opinions and sway people to their side which could be good under the right circumstances however like everything it can lead to controversy. Plan B-Ill manors analysis Plan B himself was kicked out of school during year 10 where he was sent to a pupil referral unit this is where all those who deemed unsuited to school were sent. In this unit they all had no respect for authority as they had felt ignored by the society that had kicked them out of school and alienated them into a separate unit segregated from other people.This eventually led the kids in the referral unit being, in a sense, raised by the music which they listened to which in the case of Plan B (Ben) led to wanting a career within the musical field which he at first starting singing as he drew influence from Timberlake however he ultimately felt the most comfortable when he was rapping hence why most of his songs are rap songs.
