Masthead: This is the title of the newspaper, the masthead suggests that they illuminate the news of the world to their readers and it also makes it seem that is necessary for their readers.
Headline: The title given to the story usually  a brief catchy summary, he headline is simple and straightforward as the story focuses on the NHS and their importance during current times.
Sub-heading: usually shorter than the headline and provides additional information, this paper has three sub headings in total that show the significance of the current situation and elaborate on the main story.
Page furniture:Everything that is not an image or copy relating to the story, this is in an effort to make the Sun more appealing to the readers by providing a lot of content.
Splash: this a large image or piece of copy splashed across the front page, the text and image take up the majority of the page which shows the significance of the story.
Main image: The dominant picture of the page, the main image of the newspaper is that of individuals in hazmat suits this can convey the seriousness of how the pandemic has escalated during its time in the UK.
Copy: Known as Body text, there is little copy on the front cover  apart from the headline and sub-headings this appeals to the audience of the newspapers.
Lead story: the main story on the front, the font size of the headline of National Health Service suggests the importance of it to the newspaper and its political allegiance. 
Stand first: The first paragraph of a news story that summarises the whole story. This summarises the paper's point of view in relation to the main story of the newspaper.
Byline: the name of the article's author.
Plug: Small boxes which refer to other stories in the paper, the sun has a plug for a service that delivers the Sun to customers' doorsteps this suggests the newspaper cares about their readers and delivering the news.
Date line: the date and year of the newspaper, this suggests that the story is recent and relevant.
Layout: How the paper is divided up into visual sections, the content of the sun is divided in to two main sections, the top section shows the brand image of the paper and that of the plug the bottom section shows the main story and sub headings of the paper this layout helps to anchor the brand with the main story which shows it to be their take on the situation.
Colour:Newspapers are typically black and white but use a particular colour to associate it with the brand. The main colour used here is that of a blue which relates to the NHS and also shows the sophistication of the story itself.
Font: the style of the typeface used by the newspaper. sans serif font is used throughout the paper, this shows it is modern and it is easy to read and contrasts the background.
Logo: An image/graphic that represents the brand. The sun has a simplistic design which appeals to the typical casual reader of the sun.
Puff: A shape which is edited on to make something stand out, the puff that contains the price at the top of the page which suggests that it is good value for money and the customer is making a smart investment.
